Talks at admissionassistants // Sal Montgomery

It's been a while...

After what's felt like an eternity, we held our first in-store talk in almost two years. Who better to kick things off that one of our favourite humans, Sal Montgomery

Tales of adventures both close to home and far away were the theme of the night. From the 24 hour challenge on the River Dart, to wild expeditions in Bhutan and Kamchatka.

The highlight for all had to be the Q&A, where Sal answered question after question covering everything from how to start kayaking, to how to overcome your fears and how to negotiate bears!

We're so stoked to open the doors back up to events and Sal absolutely did that opening night justice - thank you Sal. After the talk, a few people asked about doing a litter pick, so we figured let's just do it!

Community litter pick

The next day saw us host a community litter pick, meeting at the admissionassistants shop and heading out to clear the 00166 play park, followed by the big car parks and the surrounding areas.

What we thought would be a handful of people turned out to be 20+ and together we made pretty light work filling up a stack of bin bags. It was great to see everyone out!

Iconic

Ironic

As our series of talks at admissionassistants continues, we'll aim to make the morning litter pick a regular feature.

As our friends at Save Our Rivers commented:

"Don't just go to a talk, act. If you don't, who will?"
